2012-07-10 Discussion on Mercury MN Implementations =================================================== Agenda ------ 1. Resource Map generation, identifiers, alignment with landing pages Created a new index for testing that contains the resoruce maps: http://mercury-ops2.ornl.gov/clearinghouse_new/mn/v1/object ORNL DAAC http://mercury-ops2.ornl.gov/ornldaac_new/mn/v1/object/resourceMap_398.xml http://dx.doi.org/10.3334/ORNLDAAC/1098 http://mercury-ops2.ornl.gov/ornldaac_new/mn/v1/object/10.3334/ORNLDAAC/398 http://mercury-ops2.ornl.gov/ornldaac_new/mn/v1/object/doi:10.3334/ORNLDAAC/398 Properly encoded form: http://mercury-ops2.ornl.gov/ornldaac_new/mn/v1/object/doi%3A10.3334%2FORNLDAAC%2F398 https://code.ecoinformatics.org/code/metacat/tags/METACAT_2_0_1/lib/ 2. DAAC replacement of identifiers -- For science metadata, IDs are changing -- Old ids for science metadata not used any more (Can be marked as obsoleted, archived, and restricted to non-public (e.g., by changing AuthMN to CN) -- Old IDs for data objects stay the same 3. Issue noticed with USGS node: http://mercury-ops2.ornl.gov/clearinghouse/mn/v1/object?start=0&count=9999 returns a 500 error - Fixed! http://mercury-ops2.ornl.gov/clearinghouse_new/mn/v1/object?start=0&count=9999 4. General discussion on USGS node - generated resource maps for data and metadata - no changes to identifiers - probably cumbersome to use the DOIs for RMap identifiers (fairly manual process) Please send Mike Frame an email when this is done and available, just so I can coordinate with the USGS people and data providers.
